Hippity Hoppity!

Bunny sessions are well underway- and boy are they cute!- The bunnies and the babies! Molly was scared at first but then she warmed up to them. There are still a few appointments here and there this week. We also have availability for sessions with THE Easter Bunny, himself!



Here's Cooper, a bubbly, happy baby who loves his Momma! He broke in the bunnies yesterday and did a great job making cute faces! Check out our sneak peek page for all the other cutie- pies!

January Updates

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Thank you all for a wonderful 2008! We have had so much fun this year. The year seems to have just flown by. The one thing that stands out to me about this year is how close we all are. I truly feel like each of you is a member of our family. We've watched our little ones grow, we've laughed and with a few colic-y ones, we've cried! It's never dull and always an adventure. I often get asked if I miss teaching. Yes, there are some things about it that I do miss. Watching my students blossom and grow and my friends/ coworkers but I get those rewards here with all of you- My friends, my extended family! You are the reason I do what I do. You are the reason I am always looking for new ways to grow and improve. So thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Because of you, I already know 2009 is going to be a great one!


Christmas Specials

We are finished with our Christmas special and all orders are in and ready to be picked up! Let us know if you'd like to pick them up here or at Myra's in Thibodaux! Our Santa pictures are all booked up. For those of you who have scheduled an appointment please have your child dressed and ready to take his/ her pictures at your scheduled time. It may be a good idea to arrive several minutes early. Due to the special circumstances of these sessions we cannot reschedule you at a later time and we cannot guarantee your session if you are late or not ready at your appointment time. There is a 3 sheet minimum purchase for $30 which is due on Saturday. We will have one Christmas card to choose from at Myra's for the Santa event!

We are now taking appointments for our 2009 Christmas special. Come play in the snow.

Bundle up for a Winter Wonderland Christmas!

This year our Christmas Special will be bright, fresh, and fun with our outdoor snow scene. Come sit on our weathered stone wall and throw a snowball or two

Dressy or Casual

Our set will be decorated with white and neutral shades. Any color clothing will work well.

Sessions will last 15 minutes . If you have multiple groupings please book more than one session.

All pictures from our fall special are in and ready to be picked up! Also, Just a little FYI... keep Saturday, December 6 open on your calendars we are cooking up a little something special for all of our loyal customers to say, "Merry Christmas, thanks, and we love you!" Hint- You don't need to stand in a certain line at the mall! There will also be prizes and gifts and discounts... sounds like a little Christmas spirit to me!

I will be out of the studio from Wednesday, October 8 until Friday, October 10. I will be going to the Craft Show in Canton! I'll be on the lookout for great new props for all our little ones!

Let There be Light!!!

I am so happy to report that the power is back on! Bless all of you who lived through power outages with little ones. Joan Delatte Photography will be back and running on Monday, September 15, 2008. I have heard from several of you on the condition of your homes and families. Thank you for keeping me up to date and for asking about my own family. We were fortunate because there was only minor damage to our home and yard. Molly and I evacuated to Tennessee- along with ALL of your pictures! Frankie had to ride out the storm at work and we didn’t get to see him for over a week! The important thing now is that everyone is safe and home. I don’t recommend 16 hours in a car with a 6 month old!

Blessings
Most of you who have been with me from the beginning know my background. I was a dedicated teacher and have always been passionate about photography. I managed to balance both until I lost my second pregnancy at 17 weeks. (We are still not sure why but the doctors have speculated about infection). At that point I knew I needed to take things a bit slower. I took a break from teaching after becoming pregnant for Molly and when she was born, she became my world. I love that photography allows me to take time to watch her grow and just be with her. Thank you all for giving that gift to me. I was just putting Molly to sleep ... for the 4th time this evening... and I was overwhelmed with love and amazement at this little person I've been blessed with. Our children are the most important things in this world! Please keep in your prayers one of the Joan Delatte Photography family (after all, every client is family here!) who just found out he will have to fight leukemia. Remember to cherish every hug, sigh, cry and laugh your little ones bless you with... there is nothing better!

Schedule

The only time I can get any work done is when my little one (who is going through a stage they call, “Separation Anxiety”) is asleep. (Anyone with tips on how to cope - Please email me!) So, due to the late hour, I will be making calls throughout the day tomorrow to reschedule the appointments that Gustav canceled and to return any messages anyone may have left for me. I am sorry to say that this week is out for reschedules because my babysitter is not back yet.

Fall and Christmas

We are now scheduling appointments for our fall special (12 days away) and for our Christmas Special (60 days away) Please call us to schedule as soon as possible. Also please tell your friends and family about our specials. We get calls from so many people who find out about our specials too late and they miss out. Our Fall background will be dark fall colors with a rustic fence.

Did She Say, Yes?

I was honored to be able to help with the surprise engagement of Troy and Nicole! We planned a trip to New Orleans under the guise that they would be helping me get some shots of a new location. (By the way we ARE planning a day trip for next year to the beautiful New Orleans City Park Botanical Gardens.) Well, the best laid plans…. You know how it goes!

We left Chackbay with information that the weather was nice and sunny in New Orleans. I guess we brought the rain with us because it never stopped. We decided to get some food and try to wait it out. After eating (very quickly, I might add) we drove back to the gardens where it was still raining and … they were closed! To make a long story short we took the pictures in City Park, Nicole was totally surprised, and she did say, “Yes!” Check out the pictures from that day on the sneak peeks page.

LSU Fans in Training!

We are now booking appointments for our LSU special! Thursday, August 21 and Saturday, August 23. Great for girls and boys of all ages! Show your LSU spirit before the first home game (Sat. Aug 30).

Vacation

We will be out of the studio from July 3- July 6 and from July 21- July 27. We will return phone calls once a week during this time. Please feel free to email us your orders or any questions you might have.
